WholeBody Wisdom presents
Giving Good "NO"
a limited enrollment workshop,
for individuals, partners & friends
[most people attend as individuals]

* * *

This workshop enables you to be more powerful, free and effective in all your communication.

"What is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic."
-- Martin Luther King Jr.

You will gain the ability to:

"Giving Good No": where the receiver not only hears and honors your "No", but in the process feels loved and in connection with you — enabling the relationship to be not just preserved, but enhanced. Knowing you have this ability will enable you to feel powerful, alive and at ease in your body anytime you wish to have your truth be heard and honored.

In this experiential workshop, we'll learn how to say "No" in a way that is clear, firm, and empowering — as well as open, loving, and affirming.

Being able to say "No" with power & skill also allows you to say "Yes" to more opportunities. A dependable "No" gives you the confidence to handle, stop, or redirect any situation that comes up in the moment — even if you've already said "Yes".

Saying "No" with clarity will allow people to trust your "Yes" more deeply. They can rest in the knowledge that you are taking care of yourself and will tell them if something is bothering you.

With a Good "No" you get to experience more joy & ease  — and spend less time being anxious and guarded.  You can revel in the experience of deeply enjoying and receiving the things that you are a "Yes" to — and lovingly yet clearly declining that which you don't want.

*  *  *

In this workshop, we go through three experiential levels:

First, we practice getting in touch with whether we are a "Yes" or a "No" in a given situation.  We learn how to stay connected with our bodies and find out what our truth is even in the face of someone else having a clear vision of how things should be. We also learn how to track as we change from a "Yes" to a "No" (and vice versa) as the situation changes. Just because we were a "Yes" a few minutes ago, we may now be a "No."  It's important to be able to stay connected to our bodies as that changes from moment to moment.  Once we can do that, we can relax more fully into everything that is a "Yes" for us, even if we know that farther down the line, the situation may call for a "No."

Second, we focus on learning how to say a powerful "No" in the face of another person's demanding "Yes".  We will develop your ability to really feel in your body your right and ability to stand up and stick to your "No" in the face of another person's strong-willed "Yes".  At this level you learn how to be able to say "No" with not just your words, but your voice intonation, your emotional expression, your gestures, and your whole body so that all of you is in alignment and your "No" is heard, received, and respected.

Third, we learn how to stay open and loving and connected to the other person while giving an unambiguous "No."  Often, people respond more to the love and openness, or to the fear and closure, they sense in another person, than to the content of what that person is communicating.  We might think that someone really wants our "Yes," when what they more deeply desire is to stay in connection with us.  The love and openness in your "No" can feed and nourish your connections with others more than a tight, closed, or inauthentic "Yes."

This experiential workshop will be taught using WholeBody Learning. In addition to learning concepts in your mental body — you'll also experience them in your physicalemotionalintuitive & spiritual bodies — your "WholeBody." Thus, you'll be better able to fully embody your new-found power & freedom.

This is an "Integral Practice" workshop. Through talks, Q&A and intensive & extensive experiential practice we'll be expanding our ability to be our most free, powerful and fully-expressed selves — while faced with some of life's more challenging situations.

Our events are educational experiences, and are not to be mistaken for long-term therapy or cure. Some people may find some programs to be too psychologically or physically challenging. We recommend that in case of any doubt, a physician or trusted counselor be consulted.

People of all cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations & gender identities are encouraged to participate.

Reviews:
Giving Good "NO"

I left feeling high, uplifted and motivated to change and grow. Hearing you talk was powerful and revealing. It was a delight to see such a strong role model.

Watching us all get busted on our acts and seeing and feeling layers of our acts dissolve was a treat.

Marcie Rose, holistic health counselor and healer

Fun! Growthful! Great opportunity to simulate your hardest circumstance in which to say No.

It was exactly what I'm working on in my life right now so it related to everything. It related to my primary relationship, to my relationship with myself and resultantly to my physical and emotional health.

I learned so much about myself in the exercises. I loved how much we laughedI loved how open and supportive all the participants were.

S.C.

'Giving good No' is, in a nutshell, about being true to yourself. The workshop helped me reach in and explore, What do I really want in this moment? What do I need? How do I feel? Or am I trying to take care of others, for fear of rejection / abandonment or hurting others' feelings?

I discovered that I've been so used to accommodating others, I often have no idea what I want. It feels strange to honor what I want, selfish in a way, and I always thought "No" was unkind somehow, but if I'm trying to figure out what others want, then I'm really just manipulating and controlling to get their approval. So what's selfish or unkind? The truth? I don't think so.

Furthermore, while saying no was scary, even to strangers, I learned that I not only hurt myself by not honoring my no, but I hurt others. "Only do it if it feels like a child feeding bread to a duck," Scott would say. People can detect, consciously or not, when I really don't want to do something, so I'm not doing anyone a favor by saying yes when I mean no.

During the course of the workshop, I felt at times like I wanted a break, but I really just wanted to escape. Thank God the sessions lasted as long as they did, and for three days, because instead of breaks, I had BREAKTHROUGHS — which I desperately needed!

Things I experienced and will bring into my life:

Cheryl R., Middle School Teacher

Old: "people are a threat."
New: "I'm an invitation."

In whole body = in truth = in power = MAGIC!

GGN is about: what do I REALLY want?

Giving good no, in other words, 'no' is a gift, and it's good (for yourself and others.)

Noticed yesterday how empowered I feel. My pussy is more connected and it feels like MINE. I'm not feeling needy or desperate.

I've been alone because I couldn't receive. Couldn't say yes or no. I've hurt people by being so pushy and masculine. I couldn't ask for help or for what I wanted. Now the gifts keep coming. There is so much abundance and beauty ... Just think, I don't have to work so hard, and I receive so much! Just being natural, feminine ...

Scott's masterful design of the experiential exercises coupled with his confidence in the subject matter and his facilitation skills took me on an odyssey of self discovery that has me reeling.

I got a lot out of the workshop and I do think I would like to do it again. The workshop gave me a sense of confidence about myself in relationship to men...
What I liked about the process is how quickly I was pulled into it, how present you and your assistants were with everyone. I was really impressed at how well you worked with D. and B., you certainly are gifted.

Marie Seger, Intuitive Counselor / Energy Practitioner

That was an amazing workshop. I received so much valuable information and ideas from you.I'm feeling more focus and motivated in my life now.

The exercise that you created for me really pushed my envelope way out there. The workshop left me feeling strong and ready to take on a new way of being more masculine.

Thank you for creating a powerful workshop.

Tyndall Mun

I found the workshop to be very powerful, challenging, and eye-opening.  I got lots of value from just watching your presence and the way you interacted with and led the group. I thought the exercises were very good for getting a visceral sense of the concepts but I also enjoyed your comments and stories.

Steve Omohundro, Ph.D., Scientist

Thank you, Scott! Thank you, God! Now the world is soft and flowery and flowing, not so sharp and pointy!

Cheryl R., Middle School Teacher

You are an amazingly centered and safe facilitator, tracking every being in the space with your whole body listening. Because of your deep listening, I get to hear anything out of tune in my being and bring it back into resonance with the space.

I am a fan of short suffering and rapid transformation. I find the speed and sustainability of your work noteworthy
.

I appreciate your generosity, patience, vitality and your courage to stand centered in the face of the feminine storm in both men and women. You have my support.

N. C., Coach, Recruiter

Scott you are amazing at opening people. You are so intuitive and have such a beautiful combination of hard softness. You read people so well — and know just how to move peoples bodies, hearts and souls to open them more. You hold the space for the group very powerfully.

The way you share your different sides so openly opens the room.  I like how you speak and dance  your mixture of body, mind, soul, and spirit.

M. S., Reproductive Health Consultant
