Directions to the Church of Soul:

Parking: 2-hr.street parking weekdays 8a–6p (otherwise unlimited);
Street cleaning on Sat./ Sun. in some places, 12:30–3:30pm;
The BART station parking lot is probably a good place to park (1 block away, see below).  Also, when leaving the event at night it's best to leave in groups of four or more as a safety precaution.

Car: from North  (Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito)

Take I-80 WEST / I-580 EAST (going south, actually
Take I-880 SOUTH toward “Alameda / San Jose”
 EXIT:  “Broadway/Alameda”
Left onto 5th St
Go 4 blocks to NW corner of 5th & Henry.  – on the right.
1550 5th St.  big house with plants all round.  Front door on 5th St.
 

Car: from San Francisco

Cross the Bay Bridge
right lane to take I-880 SOUTH toward “Airport / Alameda / San Jose”
EXIT:  “Broadway/Alameda”
Left onto 5th St
Go 4 blocks to NW corner of 5th & Henry.  – on the right.
1550 5th St.  big house with plants all round.  Front door on 5th St.
 

Car: from Northeast (Walnut Creek) or I-580 West

Get to the CA-24 / I-580 / I-980 intersection
Continue on I-980 WEST toward “Downtown Oakland / I-880”
EXIT:  “12th St”
Cross 12th St. and continue straight onto Brush St
Right onto 7th St
Go almost a mile – 1 block past the BART station.
Left onto Henry St.
Go one block to NW corner of 5th & Henry  – on the right (there is no 6th St.). 
1550 5th St.  big house with plants all round.  Front door on 5th St.
 

Car: from South (Oakland Airport, Fremont, San Jose)

Take I-880 NORTH
EXIT:  “Market/Harbor Term”
Straight for ½ mile. Turns into 5th St. another ½ mile to Henry St. – 1 block past BART
Cross Henry.  First house on the right. NW corner of 5th & Henry.  
1550 5th St.  big house with plants all round.  Front door on 5th St.

Exit left side of station as you walk out the ticket booth
Walk diagonally across the parking lot to the corner of 5th St & Chester (there’s a bright blue house on the corner)
Turn Right onto 5th St. and walk 1 block to Henry St.
Cross Henry St., and we’re the first house on the right (the NW corner of 5th & Henry)
The front door is on 5th St.
